Child Centered Play Therapy Training Programme and Workshops
Childplayworks is very pleased to offer training in New Zealand in the specific modality of Child Centered Play Therapy. Our training is supported by Play Therapy Australia (the leading training organisation in Australia in Child Centered Play Therapy).
An Introduction to Child Centered Play Therapy:
A 3-day standalone workshop which introduces course participants to the very safe and deeply respectful world of Child Centered Play Therapy. This workshop will be of interest to counsellors, social workers, teachers, early childhood educators, psychotherapists, psychologists, speech and language therapists, creative arts therapists, and others who work with children, as well as students who are training in these areas.
Course participants will be able to take away with them a broader and deeper range of facilitative responses, as well as an understanding of the philosophy behind these, to use in their daily interactions with children. Many of these facilitative responses can be very successfully integrated into other counselling approaches and work settings with children.
An Introduction to Child Centered Play Therapy becomes Module 1 for those who enter the full Training Programme.

Child Centered Play Therapy Training Modules 1-7
Phase 1: Modules 1-5
A wonderful opportunity for training in New Zealand in Child Centered Play Therapy. Our first workshop 'An Introduction to Child Centered Play Therapy' becomes Module 1 of Phase 1. The 5 modules thoroughly cover the basics of working with children therapeutically in the very safe, respectful and uniquely beautiful world of Child Centered Play Therapy.
Please note that all training workshops are consecutively built and attendance is accordingly consecutive.
Phase 2: Modules 6-7
Phase 2 completes the clinical, supervised practice component of our training in CCPT.
To complement our training programme, we are delighted to be partnering with Jill Janan of Play Therapy Australia to bring international Play Therapy distance training presentations to New Zealand with leaders and experts in the field of Play Therapy. Module 7 is online and long distance and utilises some of these presentations. Other presentations are available to training graduates for ongoing professional development.
Module Fees: $685 early bird or $720. Unwaged student $585.
